What is COTIL?
A Church is “a body or organization of believers”. What are we, if not a bunch of knuckleheads that believe in the awesomeness of motorsports?
In the spirit of that belief, World Racing League has formed “The Church of the Immaculate Line”, a body of enthusiasts geared around the exchange of thoughts and entertainment in all areas related to motorsports. “COTIL” will initially take the form of a simple blog on the WRL site, and as it grows, will become more “content rich” (we’ll start letting you post up all kinds of stuff) as it transitions to its own site. The name is not a pot shot at organized religion. In truth, it’s a nod at belief, devotion and dedication to a greater cause, and the notion that there is good in everything (including a leaky MG with electrical problems).
This isn’t a closed venue where we preach about World Racing League. To the contrary, it’s a place open to everyone, to talk about racing, racers and cars in general. WRL will be just one of the contributors to the blog. We’re searching for creative writers – those who can grab and hold our interest with insight, edginess, irreverence, wit and/or humor. Observations, lampoons, opinions and general commentary are welcome on all things motorsports – racing, drivers, cars, safety, organizations, photos, culture… you name it. The pulpit is yours. We’re looking for regulars, drive-bys, and eventually, a managing editor or two.
We’ve seen some of your write, we know there are some special communicators out there. Use your own name, a nom de plume, or submit anonymously if you wish. If it makes us laugh, think, or even throw something at the screen, there is a good chance we’ll publish it!
Sure there are some simple rules (this is racing, there are always rules). Don’t be obscene or unnecessarily profane. Don’t try to use the space to pimp a particular business. No defamation copyright infringement, etc. Keep it centered around motorsports (no politics, social crusades, etc). You get the idea.
